inner thoughts of a dreamer: family

I didn't realize how much I missed them until we got to hang out together for lunch this afternoon.
Years ago, I'd never thought I'd find a dysfunctional family. Dysfunctional because none of us operate on the level of 'normal'. We all have our little quirks, or peculiarities, if you like. The 6 of us, are as different as night and day, Korea and New Zealand, Mars and Pluto.
Life wouldn't be half as fun, exciting and fulfilling without them. The bond was formed through an odd way as well, with all of us finally becoming a group after Ball Nite in '09. It's hilarious, from how we got our name (Onz Family), to funny sleepover stories, and drama that makes life so much more interesting. The support that we have for one another, the love and the tears make this friendship so special and worthwhile.
I'd never manage to make friends with girls in particular, much less imagined I'd have a whole girl group to hang out with and share things that are close to the heart. Nonetheless, it happened, and no matter how I look back in retrospect, it's amazingly difficult to find a time when I never spent time with at least one, or two of them. From rushing assignments together, to giggling in class over how cute the lecturers are, to sleepovers, it's funny how suddenly we're all going to different places, with Wan & Mei to Australia, and I to the States. Life won't be the same without having them around, and I'll miss those little quirks dearly.
I'm eternally grateful that I've a group of sisters who've looked out for me and encouraged me, and even more grateful that I've had additional 'mothers', due to the many sleepovers that we've had, and WILL have! I'll miss the warmth, the comfort, the laughter and the acceptance that I've found in them (':
